The Thomas E. McMillan Museum is a local history museum located on the Jefferson Davis Community College Campus. Though small, it covers thousands of years of human history in the region. It houses Native American artifacts, 10,000 year old artifacts, and displays that depict the history of Spanish, French, English and American exploration and expansion in the southern United States. More recent items include an old fireside popcorn popper, a doctor's bag, and a display of old cameras. The museum is funded by the McMillan Trust. Visitors are also encouraged to see the adjoining Alabama Room, which is operated by the Escambia County Historical Society.
