Driving Tour of the Hatfield & McCoy Feud
The Hatfield & McCoy Feud is one of the most prolific feuds in the history of the United States and led to the intervention of government officials in Kentucky and West Virginia. This tour starts in southern West Virginia and takes drivers mostly through the western portion of Mingo County and eastern portion of Pike County. This tour does not include all of the landmarks related to the feud and those who are interested are encouraged to continue on to Pikeville to see the McCoy House and other sites. Those who are willing to go on an extended drive through rural roads, or who simply wish to read more about the feud and places associated with it, should look at the extended tour in Clio as it includes more landmarks in both West Virginia and Kentucky.
