Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony in Rochester New York
Item 15 of 22
This is a contributing entry for Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony in Rochester New York and only appears as part of that tour.Learn More.
At this location in the 19th century, two trees were planted by Fredrick Douglas for the Keller family on their property as a sign of friendship. Douglass planted two trees and one fell following a severe storm in 1920. A hospital now stands where the house and the trees once stood. The only surviving trace of the two trees that were planted by Douglass are two pictures taken by Albert R. Stone that are part of the collection of the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
