Description

The East Main Street National Historic District is situated along the main historic commercial corridor in Downtown Alliance, Ohio. The district follows East Main Street from Liberty to Union, the north boundary is defined by the railroad line and Prospect Street, and the south boundary is defined by Market Street. Sixty-five contributing buildings and 13 non-contributing buildings, along with 3 contributing statues in Freedom Plaza make up the district. This tour outlines 34 stops along East Main Street and East Market Street that are significant to the architecture or history of Alliance’s downtown. Street signs provided by a grant from Greater Alliance Foundation.
