In 1902 Samuel S. Bloch built a mansion on National Road in Wheeling, West Virginia. he often referred to his mansion as 'Elmhurst' because of the elm trees growing around the property. Samuel S. Bloch along with his brother Aaron Bloch were well know in Wheeling for their contribution to the tobacco industry.
