Built in 1906 this 14 classroom school served as one of Downtown Madison's elementary schools for 100 years, closing in it's centennial year (2006). It is currently used to host a variety of community events throughout the year. The building contains fourteen classrooms, a principal's office, and assembly hall that can fit 350 people. The school was named after the author Edward Eggleston.
