The Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum opened in 2007 after four years of planning and renovating the museum space, which was a laundromat. Its mission is to preserve the legacy of snowmobiling in the Upper Peninsula. To this end, it features just over 80 antique and vintage snowmobiles and sleds. Photographs and memorabilia are also on display. The museum hosts two annual events: the Top of the Lake Meet and the Antique Vintage Snowmobile Show and Ride. The museum moved into its current location in 2013 where it hopes to expand its collection of snowmobiles, memorabilia and literature.
