The Village Museum was founded in 1999 and features exhibits about local history, from the time when the Native Seewee people inhabited the area through the 20th century. Topics explored include the early settlement of Jamestown, S.C. by French Huguenots, the Santee rice plantations, the timber industry, the local seafood industry, and the establishment of McClellanville as a resort town.
