The Adair County Heritage Museum complex is set in five acres of native grasses and wildflowers. The eight-building complex charts the history of the area. Visitors can explore the main museum building, country schoolhouse, pony barn, wedding chapel, farm history museum, a recreational cabin, railroad depot and the former home of Governor George Wilson. Notable displays include pioneer materials and American Indian objects. Also on display are military items relating to the Battle of Kirksville in 1892.
The museum is run by the Adair County Historical Society.
