Established in 1965, the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center preserves and promotes the rich history of St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, and the surrounding region. The museum offers changing exhibits about a variety of topics including Native American culture, military history, shipbuilding, natural history, and the nearby St. Joseph North Pier Inner and Outer Lights and Michigan lighthouses in general. Lectures, walking tours, and tours of the north pier and the lighthouses are also offered. The museum building is also available for weddings and other private events.
