Listen
For a half a century, the Imperial Calcasieu Museum has been southwest Louisiana's sole arts and cultural museum. Located in Lake Charles, the museum explores the history of and Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Allen, and Jeff Davis counties through the visual arts and its collection of historical artifacts from Native Americans to European settlers. The museum also offers educational programming, including a summer camp, and changing exhibits of contemporary and traditional art. Located on the museum grounds is a 375 year old oak tree called the Sallier Oak.Sources
