Adjunct Associate Professor of History at West Virginia University. Turley has received four Fulbright Awards and is the author of two books and numerous articles. He was first runner up for the Educause Prize in 1998 and received the Pro Facultate Philosophiae Medal from the Arts Faculty, University of Szeged, Hungary, in 2011. A Francis DuPont Fellow, he received his PhD from the University of Virginia where he worked with John Corrigan and Edward Ayers. He and his wife are currently residents of Welch, West Virginia.
