The Big Sandy Heritage Center was established in September of 2003. Located behind the old Courthouse in the former Hall of Justice, it houses the world's largest collection of artifacts from the Hatfield and McCoy Feud. Also on display are items showcasing the history of the Big Sandy area from the Native Americans to the artists on the Country Music Highway. The museum offers walking tours of the city of Pikeville, which allows visitors to see the many historical buildings while hearing about their significance.
