Michigan Vietnam Veteran's Memorial
The Michigan Vietnam Veterans Memorial honors those state residents who lost their lives while serving during the Vietnam War.
Backstory and Context
The surrounding park is open to the public and various private events with permission. The park and memorial were established in 1988. It was designed by architect Alan Gordon. It is an arc-shaped steel wall that is 120 feet long and 10 feet high. A steel tension cable keeps the monument suspended three feet above the ground.
A plaque on the monument describes its purpose, and a book with the engraved names is located nearby.
