Downtown Salt Lake City Walking Tour
Description
This walking tour includes a variety of landmarks, museums, and buildings along a short walk that begins at Salt Lake's Rio Grande Depot. The tour includes both historic and contemporary landmarks related to the city's development, including structures that were built in that 19th century. When the tour gets to Main Street, be sure to follow the route carefully to avoid the light rail streetcars that were part of the city's plan to prepare for the Olympics. This tour includes a few historic sites on the south end of Temple Square, and if you would like to visit more of these sites related to the history of the LDS Church, be sure to review the Temple Square tour on Clio. This tour makes a loop and after a dozen historic downtown buildings turns back toward the starting location with final stops at the Walker Center, Capitol Theatre, and Peery Hotel.
