Hollywood Cemetery was opened in the 1880s and was the first public cemetery in the Harrington area. Prior to that time burials occurred in family cemeteries or small graveyards attached to local churches.

Hollywood Cemetery was founded in the 1880s and currently is the final resting place for almost 6000 people.

Over 60 Civil War veterans and almost 1000 total veterans are interred at the cemetery. Each year on Memorial Day the American Legion Post 7 of Harrington DE honors these men and women with a service.

In 2019 The Greater Harrington Historical Society began the Wreaths Across America Project, raising funds through sponsorship of wreaths to be placed during the month of December, Please see the museum website if you are interested in helping with this program.
