Lyons Public Art and the heARTS of LYONS, An Art Collection All Over Town
Item 26 of 34

"To me, this alchemic transfer of energy is perhaps the most interesting aspect of my artistic endeavor. When present, this energy can be felt yet always remains intangible and mysterious. The viewer is invited to discover this dichotomy within the sculptures’ formal unity and come to realize a deeper resonance."-Emmett Culligan

Emmett Culligan's Rubric #4 was added to the heARTS of LYONS in 2020. He is a northern Colorado-based artist who has exhibited in Colorado as well as New Mexico. He is a contemporary sculptor who focuses on the manipulation of materials and forms and shapes that are found in everyday life.

Rubric #4 is created from galvanized steel and rhyolite stone. Emmett Culligan donated this piece to the Town of Lyons and it is now a permanent piece in the heARTS of LYONS program. Rubric #4 is just one of Emmett's additions to public art in Colorado. He has worked with several towns to install dynamic sculptures. In 2022, Luxe Interiors+Design listed him as one of five Colorado artists to watch.
