Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church is one of the oldest parishes in Atlanta. Its history dates all the way back to at least 1796 but unmarked graves are likely older than that. Services were first held in a log structure which was also used as a schoolhouse. A meetinghouse was built in 1830 and the current church was constructed 1939. The church is an active and vibrant community, holding annual events and various social gatherings.
